CBL OFFERS DISCOUNTED DATA RECOVERY TO FLOOD VICTIMS

~ Registered charities receive free data recovery service; end users and businesses in 6 affected counties will receive 35% discount for the next 60 days ~

Newcastle, UK – August 1st, 2007 – CBL Data Recovery Technologies Limited, a leading provider of data recovery services today announced a special offer for businesses, end users and registered charities affected by the recent widespread flooding across Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Berkshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire. Until September 30, 2007, CBL will provide free data recovery services to registered charities and a 35% discount for individual and business users who need data recovery services as a direct result of the flood including disruption to power supplies or related incidents. The offer covers all media types and includes CBL’s “No Data, No Charge” service guarantee.

“CBL has a history of assisting businesses return to normality when disaster strikes,” says Frank Priest, General Manager, CBL Data Recovery Technologies Limited. “For businesses of any size, such events, can mean the loss of important data whether the result of human error or Mother Nature. Once the flood waters have receded, survival for smaller organisations in the Midlands may depend greatly on accessing their files and customer records residing on the flood damaged hard drives of their computers.”

CBL recommends that computer users with water-damaged hard drives or removable storage media do not delay in taking action and advises that they:

  • Do not attempt to use or turn on the water-damaged hardware
  • Do not open the water-damaged media
  • Do not expose the water-damanged media to heat to dry it
  • Do not place the water-logged media in a freezer
  • Do not agitate the hardware in an attempt to rid it of water
Eligible customers can contact CBL via its toll free help line at 0800 028 2069 or can submit jobs online at www.cbltech.co.uk. Flood victims can send their affected digital storage media to CBL through participating Mailboxes Etc. retail locations in the Midlands at no charge.

Priest adds, “Small or large, organisations need to schedule regular backups and keep them on CDs or DVDs offsite, thereby reducing the risk of data loss. And, business owners should review their insurance policies as the cost of data recovery may be included in their plan or covered under a business interruption clause.”
